
Harriet Greif
(1924-1988)
Harriet Grief was a painter and art teacher. She studied at Cooper Union and Columbia University. She came to Buffalo in 1947 and taught drawing, painting, and design at the Albright Art School and at Buffalo State College. She was the recipient of the Rockefeller Purchase Award at the New York State Exposition in 1962 and was honored with Painting of the Year from the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1949. Her work is included in collections across the United States, Europe and Canada.
