El Che traces the life and career of revolutionary Che Guevara from his childhood to his death in Bolivia in 1967. In an objective fashion, it covers his voyages of discovery throughout Latin America, his meeting with Fidel Castro in Mexico, his career in the Cuban Revolution and his role as Cuba's ambassador – sent by Castro – to meet with communist leaders Nikita Kruschev and Mao Zedong among others. It also analyzes his growing disillusionment with the Soviet Union and his disastrous failures in the Congo and Bolivia.
