Jennifer Grotz is a poet and translator whose first original collection, Cusp, won the Bakeless Prize in poetry and the Natalie Ornish Prize from the Texas Institute of Letters. Her recent book of poems, The Needle, explores both Polish and American twentieth-century poetry and its traditions. Her translations of the French Poet la Tour du Pin have appeared (or are forthcoming) in Ploughshares, New England Review, Tri-Quarterly, Poetry International. Grotz grew up in Texas and has lived in France and Poland. She teaches English and creative writing at the Warren Wilson College master of fine arts program for writers and at the University of Rochester, where she is an assistant professor.
