Silver Crest

(Derived from the Heintz Art Metal Shop in 1919)

Silver Crest Metal was an Arts and Crafts era metal works company that applied silver over bronze, such as Heintz Art Metal. Tiffany subcontracted with Silver Crest and made “rare and exceptional” pieces, such as vases, desk sets, trophies, etc. The company became Smith Metal Arts. According to one source, “SILVERCREST is the mark of the Smith Metal Arts Co. Fred Smith was Heintz’s sales manager, and left in April 1919 to compete with his ex-employer.”
