     Though I had snow last night to end my dilly-dallying by making a sketch today, the storm dissipated all my resolutions, and I spent the day in the studio, going over my picture.

     At late afternoon, Chubby came out with a piece of fresh bread (the crust) heavily coated with butter – It was delicious.

     Before supper he + I shoveled out the drive – the storm continues unabated. Cottrell’s chow-chow puppy came over and played with us.

     Last night – Take youngsters (including Alice Reiman) to basketball game at Ebenezer. Each year the high school youngsters seem younger and smaller to me! – It is pleasant to me to be surrounded by so much youth and gay sports.

     The diminutive youngster on the second team (Arthur Hahn) – his face alive with eagerness and lively interest in all that took place.

     The main game a lively one, and close – 35 to 34 in Gardenville’s favor.[i]

          Mary Alice + Martha home so as to take the “beginning of Lent communion. It is good to have them with us.

     Sun. p.m. – Take girls to Greyhound station. Then home and back, and to station. Meet Irving Williams, who is going to N.Y. on an earlier train.[ii]
