Avalokiteshvara is the bodhisattva of compassion, portrayed in art works as a male or female figure, sometimes with a “thousand arms” caring for suffering human beings.
Andy Goldsworthy was a likely influence as I arranged oak leaves and hepatica flower (both images appearing in Charles Burchfield’s paintings) for photography. The photograph was printed in the darkroom with the Ziatype procedure, a printing-out-process of palladium metal deposited on paper.
Retirement from clinic psychotherapy in 2015 has given me the opportunity to devote full time to my photography, which can be viewed at www.jamessedwick.com; I can be contacted through the website for purchasing my work.
