**This class has been cancelled.**
This class offers homeschoolers a place to freely explore materials, techniques, and ideas. Working in a studio setting with a multitude of materials at their fingertips, children will work right alongside an array of WNY artists. From traditional homeschoolers to radical unschoolers (and everywhere in-between), children’s natural learning and creative expression will be fostered in this six-session course. WNY artists will begin each class by sharing their work and opening up an artist-to-artist dialogue with the children. Developing both creative and critical thinking skills, child artists will converse with adult artists about artworks, materials, techniques, and the creative process. Reinforcing the idea that children are artists with an abundance of creative potential, homeschoolers will then have free studio time to explore whatever projects they wish, perhaps taking inspiration from an artist’s visit.
This session takes place for 6 Fridays: March 23, 30, April 27, May 4, 11, & 18 from 10:30-12:30.
