In honor of Peace on Earth Month (POEM), the Peace Education Fund (PEF) will host Green Frontier, a roundtable on clean energy. Speakers will discuss forms of alternative energy along with practical considerations of how to make local geothermal, solar, wind turbines, wave energy/currents and other sustainable energy sources feasible financially. The panelists include Lynda Schneekloth, Chair, Sierra Club Niagara Group; Bill Nowak, Sierra Club Niagara Group Energy Committee; Rita Yelda, Food & Water Watch and Walter Simpson, energy and environmental activist. The event is free and open to the public.
PEF was established through the cooperation of Riverside-Salem UCC/DC and the larger community to assist in the full development of the human personality and the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. The organization promotes understanding, tolerance and friendship among all nations and peoples, and among all racial, ethnic, and religious groups. PEF respects all beings, their habitats and their diversity.
POEM is a project of PEF, created to bring together peace and environmental groups, in addition to arts, interfaith, educational and cultural organizations - or life-sustaining efforts generally. POEM highlights their - and our - interconnectedness and hold, sponsor and cross-promote/publicize such events during April, the month of Earth Day. It celebrates the interdependence of peace, in all its manifestations and love for and care of the earth.
