Jacqueline Welch’s Useum installation, Anatomy of a Sight Hound, honors the grace, elegance, and calm loving nature of greyhounds. Children will get a “behind the scenes” tour of the Useum where they can mimic the stride of a greyhound and share special dog stories and memories. The group will then return to the Studio Classroom for a day of canine creations celebrating the beloved sight hounds. Participants will transform books into to treasured keepsakes, capture the dogs’ graceful motions by constructing a greyhound flipbook, and create other sweet and whimsical canine curios. If you have one, bring a photo of your own beloved dog to add to the “Beast Friends” wall in the Useum! Bring your own lunch.
