Beginner watercolor workshop

Learn basic brushstrokes for painting flower petals and leaves.  Experiment with painting various local flowers and create a small, frameable watercolor of a Rose of Sharon.

Marty Kutas is a Western New York painter in transparent watercolor.  A signature member of the Niagara Frontier Watercolor Society (NFWS), she has exhibited in numerous shows and summer art festivals since 1998.  Marty’s formal training was in math education, but she enjoyed painting and drawing all her life.  These seemingly opposite interests blend together in a style that emphasizes balance, perspective and detail.

“I paint to interpret the beauty that I see in the world.  I especially like to express my love of flowers, nature, classic architecture and ordinary people enjoying life. “
