Kent Klitgaard, a leading environmental economist, coauthor of Energy and The Wealth of Nations: Understanding the Biophysical Economy and professor of economics at Wells College, will be our guest speaker for October 9. Just back from the 2014 environmental economics conference in Reykjavik, Iceland, Klitgaard will speak about how both the left a d the right misunderstand the true economic crisis ahead -- because both sides of the debate are focused on a vision of economic growth that is impossible for Earth to sustain.
