Hosted Event | Emile Desmedt, Internationally Recognized Artist from Tournai, Wallonia, Belgium: "An International Artist's Perspective"

The Buffalo-Lille Association, Inc. and the Dr. Margaret E. Bacon Visiting Artists Fund present Emile Desmedt, internationally recognized artist from Tournai, Wallonia, Belgium, at Buffalo State.
Well known for his sculptural work in clay, metal, and glass, Professor Desmedt teaches at the Academy of Fine and Decorative Arts in Tournai, wins international accolades, and participates in numerous workshops abroad including in Canada, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Finland, France, Lebanon, Niger, and Tunisia.
His works have been acquired by Societe Nationale de Credit a l'Industrie, the French Community of Belgium, Province of Hainaut, City of Laval (Canada), Museum of Faenza(Italy), Museum in Louvain-La-Neuve, and the Taipei Fine Arts Museum (Taiwan).
The campus and Western New York community are warmly invited to attend the two major free presentations made by Desmedt:
Thursday, October 16, at 12:15 p.m. in Upton Hall 230: "My Life in the Arts: I Need the Unknown"
Saturday, October 18, at 8:00 p.m. in the Peter & Elizabeth C. Tower Auditorium of the Burchfield Penney Art Center: "An International Artist's Perspective"
