Demonstration  |  Interpretation and Expression: High Country Landscape With Stephen Quiller

Stephen Quiller will begin his demonstration with highlighting his unique approach to color and composition as it relates to the subject being painted.  A high country mountain landscape will be demonstrated using a combination of watermedia and how each media has their own rewards to assist with interpretation and expression of the artwork.

About Stephen Quiller

Stephen Quiller is an internationally known painter who has written several books on watermedia and color and has produced artist instructional videos.  Quiller lives with his wife in Creede, Colorado where his gallery is located.  Stephen Quiller is a Dolphin Fellow and signature member of the American Watercolor Society,  the National Watercolor Society, National Society for Painters in Acrylic and Casein, Rocky Mountain National Watermedia, and Watercolor West.  

Quiller has received the numerous awards and honors from the American Watercolor Society including the 2014 Gold Medal of Honor as well as major awards from the National Watercolor Society.  In 2014 he was invited along with two other American painters to the First Zhong Shan International Master Watercolor Invitational Exhibition in China.  Stephen Quiller’s paintings were produced on magazine covers along with articles in many leading publications.  Quiller has served as a juror for numerous regional and international water media exhibitions and conducts national and international seminars. 

Stephen Quiller’s paintings can be viewed at the Mission Gallery in Taos, New Mexico and during the summer months at the Quiller Gallery in Creede, Colorado.   To view his work and learn more go to www.quillergallery.com.
