At the Waterfront: Gene Witkowski
On View Friday, July 11–Sunday, October 26, 2014
The grain elevator, an icon of Buffalo’s industrial heritage, is the entry point to the conversation. For some, these totems tell the beginning and end for a community. But for Gene Witkowski, they tell a story of labor. Witkowski provides the “why” behind the elevators with photographs that focus on industry. The artist reminds us that our port is active and should not be eulogized just yet.
