Considering the Metaphysical: An Exhibition of Works from the Collection

On View Saturday, July 17–Sunday, October 17, 1999

Rockwell Hall

The most intriguing art works, as a result of their complexity, connect with the viewer in a profound way, as one recognizes the subtle articulation of a concept that goes beyond words.  They explore unique ways to communicate universally held beliefs, or to challenge clichés through contemporary interpretations and ingenuity.  Some might stimulate thought that supercedes the artist’s intentions.  These works from the collection were selected for qualities that in one reading might be considered metaphysical.  The exhibition features works by Michael Bosworth, Dana Hatchett,Robert Hirsch, Josh Iguchi, Lin Xia Jiang, Laura Snyder, and others.
