Mathematics in Art

On View Saturday, August 17–Sunday, December 1, 2002

Rockwell Hall

Exploring the relationship between mathematics and art, this exhibition served as a resource for a New York State Council for the Arts-funded project with West Seneca East High School. Paintings, drawings, prints and sculptures illustrated the various ways artists use mathematics or geometry as organizing principles for their work. The artists represented included Richard Gubernick, Duayne Hatchett, Jack Knight, Boris Kroll, Walter Prochownik, Paul Sharits, Andrew Topolski and Patty Wallace.
