From the press release:
"Over the past five years the faculty of the State University College at Buffalo has been especially active in requesting and receiving support from the Research Foundation/SUNY Awards Committee. Of the College faculty who have been awarded grants, 41 are represented in this exhibition.
The SUNY Awards Committee has encouraged pilot projects and innovative activity through support of scholarly and creative activities in disciplines which have not received large program appropriations from private or Federal agencies. The Burchfield Center Advisory Committee, the College administration and faculty colleagues of the recipients are pleased to take this opportunity to recognize the achievements of the University Awards Recipients at SUCB. Numerous voluntary observations shared by the awards recipients with members of the staff arranging this exhibition, indicate enthusiasm and sincere appreciation of the SUNY Research Foundation. Anyone wishing to discuss the specific work of a recipient with him is invited to contact the person directly or through calling ext. 6011, office of the Burchfield Center Curator."
