On View Saturday, October 30, 1999–Sunday, March 19, 2000

Rockwell Hall

In appreciation for artist, teacher and donor Sylvia Rosen’s patronage of the craft art program, collector Charles Rand Penney became the Burchfield Penney’s second major craft art patron with his 1994 gift of 53 works by 19 Western New York artists. The Charles Rand Penney Collection of Craft Art contains works by nationally recognized craft artists including Wendell Castle, Concetta Mason and Albert R. Paley, Jr. In addition to these contemporary artists, historical artists such as Charles Rohlfs and Frederick E. Walrath are represented. Selections were exhibited in the second exhibition in the Rosen Gallery that opened on June 23.
