Searching for Wedding Photos of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cary Rumsey

Saturday, May 24, 2014

I have never found the wedding pictures from Charles' and Mary's wedding. I did find a clipping in the "Scrapbook" collection at Central Library about it though.

The article from "Boston Transcript" is dated May 28, 1910, so it must be around this time (today is May 24, 2014) that the wedding took place. It was in the family chapel on Arden, the Harriman estate. It was located outside of New York City. According to the article the couple "will pass a fortnight near Lenox." Ok, I had to look up "fortnight" in the dictionary, and it means "3 weeks".

They stayed in the Whitney cottage owned by Harry Payne Whitney. It was located on October Mountain.
Sounds pretty rustic to me!
