           May 18 – Tues.

A confused indefinite week of small events. My lumbago is getting better slowly but I feel no real urge to get out to paint. Only, as Hopper put it once, I want to want to paint.

Mostly dark chilly rainy days – intermixed with hot hours of sunshine.

Visits to see Mart & her baby – she expects to get up today.

Art accepted for radio school in Air Force. Must enlist May 22 to 29. We hate to think of it.

   Last night B – M.A. & I to see “I Remember Mama” at Seneca.
