Evening to Edna Lindemann’s for a dinner party (at first I declined because Bertha had just had a tooth pulled, and could not eat, but she insisted we should accept) –
We had a very pleasant time (as Bertha said afterward, Edna, makes a perfect hostess) –
Dr. Bulger said in an aside to me that he hoped I would continue my association with the college, “next year and forever” – and I agreed. (It was a farewell party to Lia and Sante David – they are returning to Italy in a few days)
[Heard wood-thrush sing while there – the first]
