On all sides morbidness –

In painting the horizon sun; paint a burst of light, then the black jagged edges of trees, & the openings in the trees as missapen things

A day of rare romantic clouds –

A rainy noon in a woods; feeling of sunshine about to come thru the trees – at the season when it seems summer is an eternal season –
