Dec. 24 – on way to West Valley we saw what at first seemed to be a snowy owl, his underside being white (perhaps lit up by the snow) but as he turned and banked, his burnt sienna red tail was completely revealed in one instant—a red-tailed hawk—he wheeled several times as if searching for prey, but the colored tail was not again shown – Finally he settled in a tree.
