Nationally recognized artist Philip Burke is featured in show at Burchfield Penney Art Center

Known for his bold colors and dead-on caricatures

You'll recognize the bold colors and dead-on caricatures. Philip Burke's work has been jumping out at us for years from magazines like Vanity Fair and Rolling Stone.

His current show at the Burchfield Penney Art Center features dozens of familiar faces of actors, politicians and pop stars. He says he thinks faces are the most difficult thing for an artist to tackle but "I think it's the most rewarding when you get it to look like the person."

He is a local artist whose work is recognized worldwide.The Likeness Of Being - Portraits By Philip Burke runs through September 13th at the Burchfield Penney Art Center at SUNY Buffalo State.
