January M&T Second Friday is part of Testify at the Center
January 11, 2013
January M&T Second Friday includes open galleries until 8pm, Launch Talk with Tony Bannon, Happy Hour with music by Joe Rozler and John Bacon, and a performance by the master photographer Ralph Gibson at 8pm (advance tickets - $5 Burchfield Penney members/$10 for "not-yet" members - for Gibson are available online or by calling 716-878-6011 during gallery hours). The evening also includes an open studio event with artists featured in Autism Services, Inc.'s Community Gallery.

Ed Sanders and Ralph Gibson Perform at the Burchfield Penney as part of Testify at the Center
The Burchfield Penney is excited to welcome photographer Ralph Gibson on Friday, January 11 at 8pm and poet/activist Ed Sanders on Saturday, January 12 at 8pm.

Ralph Gibson is that rare artist for our times who has touched the masters of the past half century – from the Beat Generation in San Francisco to the vigor of yesterday’s born-digital, cross-media creations. Gibson is a photographer and an independent publisher - and now concert halls are featuring his sound-image moving picture performances. For more information and tickets, visit the website.

Ed Sanders is a poet, singer, social activist, environmentalist, author, publisher and member of The Fugs. In the 1960s, he operated the Peace Eye Bookstore in New York City’s East Village, where Spain Rodriguez had his first-ever exhibition. In addition to the January 12 performance by Sanders, the Burchfield Penney's Collection Study Gallery will feature works by Spain from the personal collection of Ed Sanders. For more information and tickets, visit the website.
