BOOK LAUNCH and READING: SECOND IN COMMAND BY SANDI VAN EVERDINGEN
Thursday, February 21, 2019, 6 pm

The Burchfield Penney is please to host the book release and signing for Sandi van Everdingen's SECOND IN COMMAND.

Sandi van Everdingen's author statement:

Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, I married a Navy man and spent my twenties living all over the country. Eventually we wandered back home, adopted two boys, and settled into the suburban life I spent much of my teenage years trying to escape. A mile and a half away from it, to be exact.

By day, I counsel college students and help them discover their path in life. I enjoy helping people figure out what fuels their soul and makes them want to get up every morning. What fuels mine? Stories. I love to read them, tell them, and write them. I'm also passionate about the environment, my health, and my family.

My first YA verse novel, SECOND IN COMMAND, was inspired by the families I met while my husband was deployed. I could not have survived our separation without the support of our military community, and I am forever indebted to their love and kindness. My hope is that the stories I tell will show the strength we can find in each other.

This event is free with gallery admission.
