Cycles at the Center: A four-day launch of art happenings dedicated to change, vision and motion

Highlights of the weekend include:

• Launch Talk by executive director Tony Bannon on Friday, April 12 at 6pm
• Film screenings of S:STREAM:S:S:SECTION:S:S:ECTION:S:S:ECTIONED (1971) by Paul Sharits
• Performances by LehrerDance in the East Gallery (Tickets: $15/$10 for Burchfield Penney members/$5 standing) on Thursday, April 11 at 7:30 and Saturday, April 13 at 5:30 & 7:30)
• M&T Second Friday featuring an Opening Celebration for five new exhibitions and Happy Hour with Dive House Union.
• A Musical Feast featuring David Taylor (Tickets: $20/$10 for Burchfield Penney members) on Friday, April 12 at 8pm
• Elmwood Bike Path Celebration in collaboration with GO Bike Buffalo and Campus Wheelworks on Saturday, April 13 from 1-5pm

Visit the places that Charles E. Burchfield lived and worked, and see first-hand the sites he painted in Buffalo with Nancy Weekly, Head of Collections/Charles Cary Rumsey Curator and Burchfield scholar. Brunch will be served at Butterwood Sweet and Savory at the Lafayette Hotel in downtown Buffalo.

Call for Kids: Pop-Up Park Buffalo at the Center
Saturday, April 13, part of Cycles at the Center

Pop-Up Park Buffalo comes to the Burchfield Penney on Saturday, April 13, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. In one afternoon, a team of kids will design, build, play on, and tear down their own park in front of the Center.

Participation in Pop-Up Park Buffalo is free, however, reservations are required. Please call Alana Ryder at 878-4534 or email ryderah@buffalostate.edu. Space is limited, and children must be between the ages of 8 and 18. Lunch will be provided, and the event will take place rain or shine. For more information, visit www.BurchfieldPenney.org.
