Happy Holidays from all of us at the Burchfield Penney!
Charles Burchfield, Twas the Night Before Christmas [detail], 1945

It is good to look at the greying sky, hear the wind in the scanty trees, to hear a tree rubbing against the house—it is the romantic season. There is an air of coziness about everything. Our minds revert to crackling fires in fireplaces, apples, armchairs, and nutcracking. Thanksgiving & Christmas, which no longer are religious festivals but human, are in the air.

Charles Burchfield, November 3, 1914
