John Yerger was a professional artist who lived in the western New York region all of his life. He attended the Vesper George Art School in Boston and received a Masters of Art degree. He was represented by the Dana Tillou Fine Art Gallery.
"What I want is a circular museum, large enough to house these four season transitions..." wrote Burchfield in 1964. The Charles E. Burchfield Rotunda, the Burchfield Penney's circular gallery dedicated to Burchfield's work, fulfills this wish.
