Monday is Washday is a 3 channel projection developed for the Cycles project in the Front Yard at the Burchfield Penney.   Using the traditional poem, “Monday is Washday,” the days of the week are illustrated by contrasting images of women’s work from the 19th and 21st centuries.  For one hundred years, traditional chores were assigned to each day of the week and emblazoned on dishtowels:  Monday: Wash Day; Tuesday: Ironing
; Wednesday: Mending;Thursday: Marketing;  Friday: Cleaning; Saturday: Baking;  Sunday: Rest.
