Using Burchfield’s art and Dickinson’s poetry as prompts, participants will write a poem about the season in all its intoxicating, disorienting vibrancy. Metaphors and imagery will prepare the way for the art to follow. We will lose ourselves in our poetic writing and translate our words into paintings. Guidance will be provided in watercolor technique to help you create a work of art influenced on your ideas. Writing supplies and watercolor materials will be provided but please feel free to bring your favorite journal, pen and paper, and paints.
