This is a smaller, touring version of Buffalo's City Hall: The Politics of Architecture and Design, which had been shown at the Burchfield-Penney Art Center from February 12 through April 4, 1993. Titled Biff Henrich: Images of City Hall, the photographs were shown at Buffalo City Hall in the City of Buffalo Mayor’s Conference Room, 209 City Hall, January 16–June 29, 2001.
An abstract of the original exhibition stated:
Buffalo City Hall is a masterpiece of American Art Deco architecture, designed by John J. Wade and completed in 1931, and is designated as a Local Historic Landmark and is listed on the New York State and National Registers of Historic Places. Photographs of interior and exterior details of Buffalo City Hall by noted area photographer Biff Henrich were lent by the Burchfield Penney for exhibition in the mayor’s conference room. The Burchfield Penney commissioned the photographs for its 1993 exhibition titled “Buffalo’s City Hall: The Politics of Architecture and Design.” This display was made possible by a grant from the New York State Council on the Arts and cooperation from the Office of the Mayor.
