                   May 10, 1917 –

     May noon!  A band playing – booming white clouds sun beaten

Pile up, a flutter of flags, the lank grass lurtches; lawns thickly speckled with dandelions, blooming cherries + plums

     Clouds represent a far away land to the north, the sky is millions of miles beyond –
